Teaching
Teachers exhibit knowledge, skills, and work processes representative of an innovative professional in a global and digital society. Teachers:
a. demonstrate fluency in technology systems and the transfer of current knowledge to new technologies and situations
b. collaborate with students, peers, parents, and community members using digital tools and resources to support student success and innovation
c. communicate relevant information and ideas effectively to students, parents, and peers using a variety of digital-age media and formats
d. model and facilitate effective use of current and emerging digital tools to locate, analyze, evaluate, and use information resources to support research and learning

Reflection
It is important for educators to be knowledgeable and actively involved in the educational setting outside of the classroom. Teachers should work closely with the community, parents, the school, and other faculty outside of the classroom as well. Using technology to collaborate and communicate effectively is essential due to the fact that technology is so relevant in our society today.
ITD 709 IT plan was created for the student to play the role of a technology leader in an educational setting. The leader has to integrate current technology, examine the potential for upgrades of software and hardware, and provide an outline for integrating new technology into the educational setting. The plan encompassed us researching and budgeting for certain aspects related to technology in a school setting (on an individual and district level) We had to include general information about the plan, its function, and the importance of IT in education. We also had to research information related to leadership roles and support of the faculty, community , and parents. We examined the infrastructure, budgets, and brought forth a professional development plan to implement the IT plan into the classrooms so teachers could be effective with their use of the updated and new technology components.
In IT 755 we created a fully functional web based course. The design was brainstormed using the storyboard, then it was applied fully to the web based course's facets and design. The web based course had us develop a course design through proper web development techniques. Through the design of this course we applied a variety of digital tools to support research and learning. The web based course allowed for the opportunity for parents and community members to have access to special education related information and assistive technology tools. Parents having children with SPED rulings often do not have an understanding of the related terms, information, or different forms of technology that can be used as tools in the classroom for their child to enhance learning outcomes. This web course offers the basic foundations of SPED including IEP, section 504 plans, and IEP jargon. This web based course was designed as a way to communicate important SPED related information when a parent or individual interesting in learning more about SPED lingo in relation to the public-school sector. This web based course also included modules, assignments, quizzes, and a syllabus. If an IEP is applied correctly to a students educational setting it can inhibit student success. That is why this web based course is an important tool for the community to have free access to.
In IT 648 we had to find a communication tool that previous classes had not used before and create a website tutorial related to that tool. I chose Track CC, a classroom management tool that teachers, parents, and students can use to track assignments, due dates, grades, student progress, activity, study information, class attendance etc...There is a student and parent mode that each include their own features. This tool is a wonderful classroom management tool and a communication tool with parents. Track CC allows for collaboration with students and parents alike. It also provides students with a current technology tool, which helps them stay current with technology and to have it included in their educational setting.
Future Learning Goals
In the future as an educator, instructional designer, or technology leader I hope to continue to be diverse in application of technology tools and other forms of media into active collaboration with parents, students, and others in the community as well as in education and learning.
